The training environment for professional Go players in Taiwan is about to undergo a significant change. Haifeng Chess Academy is proud to announce our collaboration with 'YiTe Technology.' With the strong support and sponsorship of YiTe Technology's Chairman Yu Wei-bin, we will introduce a new support system for our elite team, creating a 'no worries' dedicated training environment for Taiwanese professional Go players.

Haifeng Chess Academy has long been committed to organizing high-quality tournaments and promoting the development of Go. However, we have also deeply felt that many outstanding young players face real-life pressures as they strive for the top. To make a living, many are forced to shift their focus to teaching early on, which is a major reason why many potential new stars reluctantly compromise or even give up their first-line competitive careers. To solve the survival problems of professional Go players, with the enthusiastic support of YiTe Technology Chairman Yu Wei-bin, we will officially launch a new sponsorship system in the second half of 2026. The elite team gathers a group of ambitious professional Go players who aim for the world's top and devote all their energy to Go training and competitive improvement. This plan, in addition to maintaining existing support such as international tournament travel and accommodation subsidies, tournament prizes, and international ranking rewards, will provide additional support:

A Solid Foundation for New Players to Focus on Training: For new players in the elite team who have not yet entered the top eight in prize money, the new system will provide an annual training subsidy of 200,000 yen. Through this dual-track design of training subsidies and tournament prizes, the core goal is to ensure that basic living income exceeds the starting salary of recent university graduates. For players who actively engage in training and continue to strive in competitions, their actual income will significantly exceed this threshold. Our goal is clear: to allow new players to focus on the Go path without worrying about basic living expenses.

Honor and Incentives for Top Eight Players: For the top eight ranked players in the elite team, we have established a 'million yen annual salary incentive mechanism.' Through an annual special allowance of up to 400,000 yen, we help top eight players move towards the goal of a million yen annual salary. Additionally, for senior players with an annual income already exceeding 1 million yen, as long as they continue to focus on elite team preparation and training, they will still enjoy an annual subsidy of at least 200,000 yen, as recognition and support for their continued competitive efforts. This is not only giving top players the dignity and recognition they deserve but also encouraging all elite team members to strive for the clear goal of 'entering the top eight.'

We believe that only by allowing players to focus on Go training during their career's golden period and achieve better results in competitions can we showcase the strength of Taiwanese Go. When players shine on the field, not only will they bring honor to Taiwan, but they will also accumulate rich practical experience and competitive reputation, laying a deeper foundation for their own professional careers.

The mission of Haifeng Chess Academy is not only to work hard to organize competitions but also to stand with the players and substantially improve the professional environment. Special thanks to YiTe Technology Chairman Yu Wei-bin for his generous support and vision, hoping that this plan will become the strongest backing for the players, allowing more Taiwanese players to step onto the international stage and fully demonstrate their strength!
