The latest trading data for Taiwan's three major institutional investors was released today (20th). From a capital flow perspective, three clear signals emerged: significant capital rotation into shipping and traditional industries, continued selection of strong stocks and elimination of weak ones in the electronics sector, and noticeable stock switching within the financial sector. Shipping stocks became the biggest capital magnet, with Yang Ming (2609) net bought by over 56,000 shares. Evergreen and Wan Hai also entered the top 10 net buyers. The electronics sector showed a mixed picture: Nanya Technology and Winbond were added to portfolios, but Powerchip (6770) was net sold by nearly 36,000 shares, making it today's top net seller. The financial sector did not see a full retreat—while institutions bought Mega Financial and First Financial, they adjusted positions in CTBC Financial, Taishin Shin Kong Financial, and E.SUN Financial, indicating rapid capital reallocation across sectors and individual stocks.

Looking at major weighted stocks, financials showed divergent movements. Mega Financial and First Financial were net bought by 16,577 and 10,638 shares respectively, making them the most actively purchased large caps. In contrast, CTBC Financial and E.SUN Financial faced profit-taking, with net sells of 15,129 and 8,300 shares respectively. Meanwhile, electronics heavyweight TSMC saw a modest net buy of 1,117 shares by the three institutions.

In the individual stock net buy/sell ranking (excluding ETFs), Yang Ming, China Steel, and Nanya Technology ranked in the top three net buys, each receiving over 27,000 shares in institutional buying. On the net sell side, Powerchip, Walsin Lihua, and AU Optronics were the most heavily adjusted, each net sold by over 17,000 shares.
