New Taipei mayoral candidate Li Sichuan of the Kuomintang (KMT) visited the party's legislative caucus at the Legislative Yuan this morning (21). Hsinchu County magistrate candidate and legislator Hsu Hsin-ying joined him, along with other KMT legislators, in a show of solidarity. Li Sichuan held hands with Hsu and fellow lawmakers, chanting, "We support Hsu Hsin-ying!" to project strong party unity. Hsu declared that both she and "Uncle Chuan" have engineering backgrounds, describing their shared rational and pragmatic approach, and proclaimed the slogan: "Hsinchu and New Taipei win together! A great victory for the KMT in the year-end nine-in-one elections!"—showcasing a powerful 'science and engineering alliance.'

Hsu explained that Li is an engineer who 'wields a hammer,' while she is a satellite geodesy doctor who 'uses instruments.' Both possess solid training in engineering and science, emphasizing evidence-based decision-making, pragmatism, rationality, and technology-driven governance. Facing complex urban management and infrastructure challenges, they advocate data-centric, efficiency-first solutions and stress that local governance must be infused with stable, forward-looking leadership to ensure sustainable progress.

Hsu noted that New Taipei City and Hsinchu County share a high proportion of young families. To expand family and parent-child activity spaces in Hsinchu County, she proposed building an 'indoor themed children's park,' while Uncle Chuan has advocated for a 'large indoor parent-child center.' Both candidates also support expanding temporary childcare capacity to reduce the burden on young parents, indicating strong alignment in their vision for child welfare and parenting support. Hsu expressed hope to collaborate with Li, exchange municipal governance experiences, and jointly fight for the people of Hsinchu County and New Taipei City.

After the meeting, Hsu and Li encouraged each other and exchanged blessings. Hsu wished for 'continuous flow' in New Taipei and 'prosperity' in Hsinchu—symbolizing enduring momentum in urban development—and expressed her desire to jointly promote integrated governance across the 'Northern Taiwan Corridor' (Beibei Jitaozhu) over the final three months of the election campaign, fulfilling promises of urban advancement and livable communities through the practical mindset of engineers.
