On the 25th, the Council of Agriculture announced the launch of the 'Pet Registration Campaign! Complete Pet Registration and Easily Win a 300 NTD Pet Voucher,' introducing a total of 30,000 pet vouchers, each worth 300 New Taiwan Dollars (NTD). Additionally, 100 'Bonus Prizes – Pet Health Check Medical Gift Packages' worth 3,000 NTD each will be offered as an extra incentive. The campaign invites pet owners to complete or update their pet registration, contributing to the safety and well-being of their beloved pets.

According to the Animal Protection Act, dogs and cats must be registered within four months of birth. Failure to comply may result in fines ranging from 3,000 to 15,000 NTD. The Council emphasized that pet registration is not only a legal obligation but also a crucial safeguard for reuniting lost pets with their owners. The microchip registration serves as the strongest bond linking pets and their owners.

Pet owners are encouraged to log in to the 'Pet Owner Zone' on the 'Pet Registration Management Information Website' (https://www.pet.gov.tw/) to verify and update their pet and owner information. Wu-Wen-Chuan, Director of the Animal Protection Division, noted that some owners spend significant amounts searching for lost pets. He stressed that registration is a lifelong commitment and urged all pet owners to register their pets promptly.

To qualify for the pet voucher lottery, natural person pet owners who have already registered their dogs or cats must log in to the 'Pet Owner Zone' between September 1 and September 30, 2026, click on the 'Pet Voucher Campaign,' and confirm their information. Owners who have not yet registered can still participate if they complete registration and information confirmation by September 30, 2026. Each owner may enter one dog or cat, with only one entry allowed per pet.

The lottery draw will be live-streamed on October 2, 2026, via the 'Animal Protection Information Network' YouTube channel, selecting 30,000 pet voucher winners and 100 winners of the 'Bonus Prize – Pet Health Check Medical Gift Package.' Vouchers will be mailed by registered mail in batches starting October 2026. The vouchers can be used at 436 participating outlets across Taiwan, including 9 pet-related businesses and 14 agricultural and fisheries cooperatives, for pet food, supplies, or agricultural products. The vouchers are non-refundable and must be used by December 10, 2026.

In addition to the 30,000 pet voucher winners, 100 winners will receive a 'Bonus Prize – Pet Health Check Medical Gift Package' worth 3,000 NTD. Winners can bring their pets to any legally licensed public or private veterinary clinic in Taiwan for health checks or treatment. After the visit, they must submit receipts and relevant documents to the executing agency (China Productivity Center) by December 10, 2026, to receive reimbursement up to 3,000 NTD based on actual expenses.
