From Severe Down Syndrome to Top Salesperson! Taoyuan-Hsinchu-Miaoli Sheltered Workshops Enter Corporations, Featuring Unique Mid-Autumn Gift Boxes

"Please try our products—they're made with heart!" Wearing a neat uniform and a radiant smile, Xinheng is widely recognized as the "sales champion" at Ai Buluo Suo Changgeng Sheltered Workshop. As a person with severe Down syndrome, he once faced immense challenges due to muscle weakness and heart conditions. Today, not only does he independently promote products, but he has also become a representative model of vocational capability through the Taoyuan-Hsinchu-Miaoli Branch of the Ministry of Labor's "Mid-Autumn Public Procurement" initiative, turning each festive gift box into a powerful force supporting independent living for people with disabilities.

In his early years, Xinheng struggled with congenital heart disease and low muscle tone, facing difficulties most people cannot imagine. Fortunately, with his father's long-term care and encouragement, he gradually participated in various volunteer activities, overcoming physical barriers and building strong self-confidence.

After entering the sheltered workplace, Xinheng's sincere and enthusiastic nature quickly made him the "mood booster" among colleagues. During the Mid-Autumn season, confidently introducing various gift boxes to visitors is the moment he looks forward to and takes pride in most each year. Every face-to-face interaction and sales effort demonstrates the professional value and growth potential of people with disabilities in the workplace.

To help more people recognize Xinheng and his colleagues' hard work, the Taoyuan-Hsinchu-Miaoli Branch has carefully compiled a "Mid-Autumn Online Product Catalog" and arranged for sheltered workshops to tour and set up booths directly within corporate campuses. Immediately after launch, local tech giant Hualing Technology enthusiastically responded, pre-ordering over 100 Mid-Autumn gift boxes from the sheltered workshop, injecting employment confidence into disabled workers through tangible orders.

Before Mid-Autumn, the Branch arranged for sheltered workshops to conduct on-site sales at four corporate campuses, allowing employees to easily purchase high-quality gifts that combine festive sentiment with social impact without leaving their workplaces.
