According to the latest announcement from the Taiwan Water Corporation and related water authorities, due to pipeline replacement, new connections, and emergency repair works, partial areas in six counties and cities—Taipei City, New Taipei City, Taichung City, Yunlin County, Pingtung County, and Penghu County—will experience water outages on Friday, August 28. In Taichung, Yunlin, and Pingtung, some areas will face outages lasting up to 10 hours, and affected residents are strongly advised to store water in advance.

What to Do During Water Outage 1. Complete water storage at least 6 hours before the outage to avoid overwhelming the system. 2. Turn off electric water heaters, pumps, and booster motors to prevent fire hazards. 3. Users with water inlets below ground level should close the main valve to prevent back-siphonage contamination. 4. Avoid submerging rubber hoses in water to prevent secondary contamination. 5. Upon restoration, open all valves to release air. High or remote areas may experience delayed supply. Contact the water company if water does not return.
