The affected production period for POT-482S is from September 1 to November 30, 2025; for POT-487S, from August 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025; and for POT-528, from August 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026. BSMI stated that the defect involves "battery self-ignition," preliminarily attributed to material variations in a small number of battery cells, which may cause abnormal charging and lead to property damage.

The company has initiated the recall process. Consumers possessing affected units should contact the manufacturer for further instructions.

The manufacturer specified that the P-187 series includes OPB510 (black-gray), OPB511 (beige), and OPB512 (blue), and offers three remedies: replacement with another power bank, upgrade to a wireless charging station, or full refund based on original purchase price. Refund applicants must provide invoice or proof of purchase and return to the original point of purchase.

LaPO WT-08P recall: Free replacement with WT-08S

LaPO is recalling its WT-08P all-in-one wireless charging mobile power bank, with 25,000 units affected, produced between April and October 2025. The company stated that some battery cells may malfunction after prolonged charge-discharge cycles, increasing safety risks. LaPO clarified that both WT-08PCL and WT-08PTC are included in the recall. Consumers can return the product for a free replacement with the WT-08S, which comes with an 18-month warranty starting from the pickup date. No additional payment is required for the replacement. LaPO advises discontinuing use of the WT-08P until replacement.

PUREGEAR and YOMIX also have specific models recalled

PUREGEAR PuGeEr is recalling its MagSafe magnetic wireless power bank model 10488PG, but not all units—consumers must verify if the serial number is "F4FAD" and production period falls between April and December 2025. YOMIX YouMi is recalling model POT-536, limited to units produced between August and October 2025, totaling 3,210 units.

GUXON recalls over 10,000 units, full refund option available

GUXON's "Qiao Fang Kuai Dual-Cable Power Bank" model GFC10000 is also on this year's recall list, totaling 10,140 units. Consumers must verify both model and batch number—affected units are from April 2025 with batch numbers "GK25004093" and "GK25004071." The company offers three remedies: new unit replacement, full refund, or a NT$1,000 product voucher.

GTCASE, Ya Guo Yuan Su, and MEGA KING also on recall list

GTCASE is recalling 3,000 units of its POT-648 power bank, produced between September and November 2025. The company stated that abnormal charging management chips may cause smoke or fire, though no incidents have been reported in Taiwan. Eligible users can contact customer service for replacement.

Ya Guo Yuan Su's GRAVITY 30W built-in cable fast-charging power bank is recalling 9,000 units produced between July 2024 and January 2025. The company noted that a small number of battery cells may overheat or deform under specific conditions, posing thermal runaway risks, prompting a preventive recall. Consumers can contact customer service or visit stores for free replacement.

MEGA KING is recalling two earlier models: MK10050 iSky (5,000 units) and MK10050 iHard (13,036 units), produced between August–December 2018 and February 2018–July 2019, respectively. Despite their early production dates, the recall was announced on February 24, 2026, and thus included in this year’s list. Owners can visit designated service points for replacement.

How to check your mobile power bank model: Don’t rely only on brand name

If unsure whether your power bank is affected, check the product body and packaging labels. BSMI advises consumers to verify complete Chinese labeling, including manufacturer name, address, specifications, model number, and manufacturing date, then cross-check production period, batch number, or serial number with recall announcements.

Verifying the model number alone is not enough. For example, GUXON GFC10000 requires batch number verification, PUREGEAR 10488PG requires serial number F4FAD, and Q哥, acer Gadget, and GTCASE have specific production period restrictions. If labels are worn, take photos of the device and visible markings and contact the manufacturer’s customer service. LaPO offers such assistance in its recall notice.
