Yunlin County magistrate candidate and legislator Chang Chia-chun attended the pre-event press conference for the 'Towel Joy Summer: Yunlin Towel Carnival' today (1st), promoting cross-domain collaboration between Yunlin towel manufacturers and Yunlin Liangpin producers. A memorandum of cooperation was signed in the presence of legislators Wang Hung-wei, Hsu Chiao-hsin, Niu Hsu-ting, and Yeh Yuan-chih.
Chang stated that Yunlin towels represent a vital local industry, while Yunlin Liangpin embodies local agricultural products and distinctive brands. Their joint effort marks a crucial step in transforming industrial development from slogans into action and from isolated sales to integrated marketing.
In recent years, Chang has actively promoted Yunlin's industrial visibility in the Legislative Yuan, aiming to elevate awareness of Yunlin's quality products—from agriculture and food processing to traditional local industries—through expanded distribution channels, urban events, and cross-domain partnerships. She emphasized that Yunlin is not only an agricultural powerhouse but also home to numerous dedicated artisans and enterprises. The towel industry, she noted, stands as one of Yunlin’s most iconic points of pride.
This collaboration centers on Yunlin’s local industries, integrating towel products with premium agricultural goods and specialty foods to co-develop gift sets and souvenirs with distinct Yunlin characteristics. Planned collaborations include Wan Yuan Noodle Shop’s vegetable noodles paired with Xing Long Towel Factory’s deity-themed towels under the theme of 'Mazu Blessings' to convey safety and well-wishes; Yizhuang Agricultural Biotech’s beet chips with Jin Peng Towel’s plant-dyed towels, highlighting nature, sustainability, and local lifestyles; and Yunlin County Meat Market’s 'Yun Xiang Pig' seaweed pork floss combined with Da Hsing Weaving Factory’s endangered species-themed gauze towels, integrating local flavors with ecological conservation in souvenir design.
Chang pointed out that past local industry initiatives often remained at the level of exhibitions and promotion. To truly upgrade industries, integration in design, packaging, branding, and distribution is essential to give products stronger narratives and market recognition. This collaboration is not merely a signing ceremony but symbolizes Yunlin industries connecting with one another, paving the way for future partnerships with more enterprises, distribution channels, and urban markets, enabling 'Made in Yunlin' to reach further.
The 'Towel Joy Summer: Yunlin Towel Carnival' will take place on September 5 at 9:00 a.m. at the Huashan Flower Square, Taipei Expo Park. Chang emphasized that hosting the event in Taipei aims to bring Yunlin towels beyond their production base into the capital’s market, allowing more urban residents and visitors to witness the dedication of Yunlin’s artisans and enabling Yunlin towels to shine in Taipei and gain global visibility. She invited the public to visit the expo square over the weekend to support Yunlin towels, Yunlin Liangpin, and local industries.
