As the northeast monsoon continues to affect Taiwan, the island is experiencing a typical weather pattern of large day-night temperature differences and rainfall on windward areas. Early this morning (10th), the lowest temperature across lowland areas was recorded in Guanxi Township, Hsinchu County, at just 19.4°C, already bringing a slight chill in the mornings and evenings. Meteorological experts indicate that moisture levels will increase in stages over the coming week. In addition to localized heavy rain in the northern and eastern regions facing the wind, a tropical disturbance is brewing in the South China Sea over the weekend, with northern Taiwan expected to see slightly cooler temperatures starting next Tuesday.

Under the influence of the northeast monsoon, today's overall moisture remains low, with only scattered showers in areas north of Taoyuan and in northeastern Taiwan. Central and southern regions continue to enjoy stable, mostly sunny to partly cloudy weather. Daytime highs still reach 31 to 34°C, while nighttime lows hover between 20 and 21°C, resulting in significant day-night temperature differences.

However, starting tomorrow (11th), moisture carried by the northeast wind will significantly increase, expanding the rainfall area. Regions north of Taoyuan and northeastern Taiwan will shift to intermittent short-duration showers, with particular attention needed for localized heavy rain in the 'northern Keelung coast' and 'Yilan area.' Leeward regions such as central and southern Taiwan will remain mostly sunny, with only isolated afternoon showers in mountainous areas.

Regarding tropical system development, meteorologist Wu Derong from the Meteorological Application and Promotion Foundation analyzed that a tropical disturbance will begin forming in the South China Sea from Saturday to Sunday (12th–13th). While the latest international model simulations suggest the system is likely to move toward Vietnam, there remains divergence in projected intensity, and its evolution requires ongoing monitoring.

Although the disturbance has a low chance of directly impacting Taiwan, as easterly winds develop near the island, moisture on the eastern side will increase accordingly. Over the weekend, eastern Taipei and eastern Taiwan will shift to weather with localized short-duration showers. Western Taiwan will remain mostly sunny with scattered afternoon showers in mountainous areas, and daytime conditions will still feel relatively hot.

From next Monday to Wednesday (14th–16th), another weak surge of northeast wind will move southward. With moisture increasing again, northern and eastern regions will continue to experience localized short-duration showers, while central and southern areas remain largely unaffected, maintaining mostly sunny to partly cloudy conditions.

In terms of temperature, the new northeast wind will cause a slight drop in daytime highs in northern Taiwan on Tuesday and Wednesday (15th–16th), making the air feel noticeably cooler. In contrast, central and southern regions will maintain daytime highs above 30°C, continuing to feel warm during the day. Travelers moving between northern and southern Taiwan are advised to pay attention to temperature variations.
