To enhance emergency assistance for Taiwanese nationals abroad, the Bureau of Consular Affairs under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) is promoting its 'Overseas Travel Registration' system. By completing registration via LINE before departure or during travel, individuals can ensure that overseas embassies and consulates are promptly informed of their whereabouts in the event of natural disasters or sudden emergencies, enabling timely support.

To encourage participation, the Bureau is running a 'Monthly Overseas Registration Lottery' campaign, with the grand prize being a NT$5,000 Benefit Xpress welfare voucher! This article outlines the latest event schedule, registration steps, and important prize claim details.

Campaign Period: From now until December 31, 2026.

Eligibility: Taiwanese nationals with household registration in Taiwan who hold a Taiwan passport and travel abroad during the campaign period. Participants must complete registration before departure or while overseas to qualify for the lottery in the following month.

Restrictions: Each individual may win only once per calendar year; duplicate prizes are not permitted.

Select Registration: Tap the 'Overseas Travel Registration' option in the menu. 3. Enter Trip Details: Fill in personal information, destination, detailed itinerary, and emergency contact in Taiwan. After confirmation and submission, registration is complete, and the participant is automatically entered into the next month’s lottery.

Winners will receive a notification via the MOFA LINE official account. Within the specified timeframe, winners must: - Provide verification details: Full name, passport number, ID number, email, phone number, and mailing address in Taiwan. - Upload proof of travel: Clear photos of the previous month’s e-ticket (showing name and itinerary), passport bio page, and the overseas entry stamp on the passport.

Physical prizes will be mailed via Chunghwa Post to addresses in Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu only. Per Taiwan’s Income Tax Act, prizes valued over NT$1,000 require tax reporting.
