Q3 Social Housing: 1,500 Units Offered, 6,006 Applications Received
The National Housing and Urban Renewal Center announced that the 2026 Q3 central social housing rental program closed on September 14. Five newly constructed social housing developments participated in this round, located in Banqiao and Yingge districts of New Taipei City, Puli Township in Nantou County, South District of Tainan City, and Renwu District of Kaohsiung City, collectively offering 1,500 units.
By the application deadline, a total of 6,006 applications were received across the five sites. Based purely on total applications versus unit count, there were approximately four applications per unit. However, application热度 varied by site, and actual chances of selection depend on eligibility, preferred unit type, applicant category, and final number of qualified applicants.
Banqiao Developments Most Sought-After: 2,907 Applications for 220 Units
The highest number of applications was received for the 'Jiangcui Houshi' and 'Meigui Houshi' developments in Banqiao, New Taipei City. These two sites were jointly managed in the rental program, with 'Jiangcui Houshi' offering 100 units and 'Meigui Houshi' offering 120 units—220 units total—receiving 2,907 applications, significantly surpassing other sites.
The 'Yingtao Anju' development in Yingge District, New Taipei City, offered 380 units and received 964 applications. In fact, just the three New Taipei sites in this round offered 600 units and received 3,871 applications, accounting for over 60% of the total 6,006 applications.

Social Housing in Central and Southern Taiwan: Application Numbers by Region
In central and southern Taiwan, 'Gongcheng Anju' in Puli Township, Nantou County, offered 260 units and received 592 applications. 'Kainan Anju' in South District, Tainan City, offered 300 units and received 866 applications. 'Renwu Anju' in Renwu District, Kaohsiung City, offered 340 units and received 677 applications.
A rough calculation of 'applications divided by available units' shows approximately 13.2 applications per unit for the combined Banqiao 'Jiangcui Houshi' and 'Meigui Houshi' developments; 2.9 for 'Kainan Anju'; 2.5 for 'Yingtao Anju'; 2.3 for 'Gongcheng Anju'; and 2.0 for 'Renwu Anju.' However, this does not equate to actual lottery odds, as subsequent eligibility reviews and differing lottery quotas by unit type and applicant category will affect final outcomes.
Don’t Ignore Supplemental Document Requests—Missing Deadlines May Disqualify You
Closing the application period does not mean applicants can simply wait for the December lottery. The National Housing and Urban Renewal Center will conduct eligibility reviews on all 6,006 applications. If application documents are incomplete, applicants may receive a notice requesting additional materials. Applicants must submit the missing documents within the specified deadline.
Failure to submit by the deadline or submission of incomplete supplemental materials may affect final eligibility and could result in disqualification from the lottery. Applicants are advised to monitor notifications closely and log in to the 'Anju Haoshi Portal' to check their application status.
Review Results from November 27, Public Lottery on December 16
According to current plans, after eligibility reviews are completed, the National Housing and Urban Renewal Center will begin sending out review results starting November 27. Applicants will receive notifications indicating whether they passed or failed the eligibility review. Only those who pass will advance to the next stage: the public lottery.
The public lottery for all Q3 central social housing units is scheduled for December 16, 2026. Being selected as a primary applicant does not mean immediate move-in. Applicants must complete viewing, selection, contract signing, and handover procedures as notified. Once all steps are completed, successful applicants may officially move in starting March 1, 2027.
