Great products head to department stores! To promote Pingtung's agriculture, fisheries, livestock products, specialty goods, and gourmet souvenirs, the Pingtung County Government, together with the Pingtung County Business Development and Investment Promotion Association, has partnered with Han Shen Mega Egg Shopping Plaza to host the '2026 Pingtung Specialty Fair – Good Pingtung Takes the Stage' from today (24th) until October 6 at the 8th-floor Event Hall of Han Shen Mega Egg. The event brings together 39 high-quality Pingtung vendors, including 15 first-time exhibitors, along with outstanding brands awarded this year’s 'Ji Ping Award.' From mountain produce to ocean harvests, traditional delicacies to youth-driven creativity, the fair fully presents Pingtung’s rich and diverse product charm.

The opening ceremony for the '2026 Pingtung Specialty Fair – Good Pingtung Takes the Stage' was held today (24th), attended by Ms. Chang Shu-Chen, Director-General of the Pingtung County Business Development and Investment Promotion Association; Ms. Li Yu-Chen, Director of the Labor and Youth Affairs Department; Mr. Su Mao-Yi, President of the Pingtung County Honorary Instructors Association; exhibitor representative Ms. Lee Tzu-Ying; and Mr. Tomonaga Enshi, Store Manager of Han Shen Mega Egg Shopping Plaza. The 13-day exhibition officially commenced, drawing immediate crowds eager to shop, with bustling vendor booths demonstrating the market appeal of Pingtung brands entering department store channels.

Ms. Chang Shu-Chen, Director-General of the Pingtung County Business Development and Investment Promotion Association, stated that the county government continuously supports local SMEs by developing sales channels and securing orders. Through domestic and international food exhibitions and various promotional events, businesses gain market experience and strengthen their brand capabilities, gradually forming a high-quality, competitive 'Pingtung Team.' This collaboration with Han Shen Mega Egg aims to leverage the mall’s strong customer traffic to help more consumers discover and support Pingtung’s excellent products.

Chang also invited the public to visit during the Mid-Autumn and Teachers’ Day holidays to purchase unique Pingtung items and consider planning a trip to Pingtung. The county is currently running the 'Pingtung Travel & Shop Festival,' where guests staying at designated accommodations before October 31 can enter a lottery with total prizes exceeding NT$14 million, including six luxury cars worth NT$1 million each, drawn monthly. She encouraged visitors to consume and travel in Pingtung, enjoying its delicious food, fun experiences, and great shopping all in one.

This year’s 'Pingtung Specialty Fair' features 39 vendors, with 15 participating for the first time. Last year’s event attracted massive shopping crowds, with some exhibitors humorously calling out, 'Send reinforcements to the cashiers!' With high expectations again this year, vendors hope to reach more potential customers through the department store’s consumer base, enhancing brand visibility and expanding market access.

Ms. Li Yu-Chen, Director of the Labor and Youth Affairs Department, expressed her delight in collaborating with the Business Promotion Association to allow this year’s 'Ji Ping Award' winning brands to enter large physical retail spaces like Han Shen Mega Egg. These award-winning brands reflect young entrepreneurs’ emphasis on product quality and market positioning, showcasing the diverse and promising landscape of youth entrepreneurship in Pingtung. This retail exposure enables young brands to move from being 'seen' to being 'recognized by the market,' directly engaging different consumer groups, gaining practical experience, increasing visibility, and laying the foundation for future expansion.

Mr. Su Mao-Yi, President of the Pingtung County Honorary Instructors Association, thanked the county government and the Business Promotion Association for consistently creating sales opportunities for local businesses. He emphasized that Pingtung’s SMEs operate sincerely and diligently, urging the public to support them through visits and purchases.

Exhibitor representative Ms. Lee Tzu-Ying from Qixing Sandalwood said she appreciates the government and association’s assistance in joining domestic and international exhibitions and channel activities, allowing vendors to gain real-world experience and expand markets. She looks forward to continuing to work with the county and association teams to promote Pingtung brands nationwide.
