The CWA specifically reminds that until September 30, the annual astronomical high tide will cause higher water levels during high tide in coastal areas from New Taipei City to Changhua County and Penghu County. Low-lying coastal areas may experience localized flooding due to poor drainage or even seawater intrusion during high tide; nearby residents and vessels should take extra caution. Latest on strong Typhoon Surigae. The CWA indicates that the 25th typhoon of the year, Surigae, has intensified into a strong typhoon. Its center is currently near the waters off Naha, Japan, and it will gradually move away toward the east-northeast, with no direct impact on Taiwan's weather; the public need not worry excessively.
