New Music Bar 'The Kura' Opens in Kinshicho, Hosting a 3-Day Opening Event Starting July 31

The new music bar The Kura in Kinshicho will host its opening event over three days: Friday, July 31, 2026, Saturday, August 1, and Sunday, August 2.

The Kura is a music bar designed around the concept of traditional Japanese 'kura' (storehouses), where guests can enjoy music genres such as R&B, Hip Hop, Reggae, Disco, and Soul. We aim to create a space where visitors can take home memorable experiences and inspiration—through DJ events, connections among music lovers, encounters with international guests, DJ schools, and dance and community events.

For this opening event, we will hold bar operations on the first day, July 31 (Fri), as a venue unveiling. On August 1 (Sat), we will relocate the R&B Night previously held in Asakusa to Kinshicho and present it as the main opening event. On the final day, August 2 (Sun), we will host an all-mix DJ party featuring a wide range of musical genres.

We will host The Kura’s first public bar operation. This is a relaxed evening where you can enjoy music and drinks at your own pace—an accessible event even for those who are not fans of DJ parties.

Kinshicho R&B Night – DJ Event

8/1 (Sat) Opening Kinshicho R&B Night

On the second day, we will host 'Kinshicho R&B Night' as the main event of The Kura’s opening. This DJ event focuses on Black music genres such as R&B, Hip Hop, Old School, and Reggae.

Since 2024, we have hosted music events such as 'Asakusa R&B Night' primarily in Tokyo’s downtown areas. Check out highlights from the Asakusa R&B Night on Instagram @rnb.tokyo! Our events have attracted a diverse crowd—not only Japanese locals but also international visitors to Tokyo, foreign residents, and those seeking new connections through music. Wanting to transform our event-based activities into a permanent space, we decided to launch The Kura in Kinshicho. Kinshicho is a fascinating town where traditional downtown charm blends with an international atmosphere. Here, we aim to create a place where new culture can emerge through music.
