Classic Movie Reading "Singin' in the Rain" Announced

Classic Movie Reading "Singin' in the Rain" will be performed at IMA Hall in Tokyo from August 12 (Wed) to August 16 (Sun), 2026.

This production is a reading play that reconstructs the legendary musical film "Singin' in the Rain," beloved by fans worldwide, with creative direction.

The script is written by Tomoharu Suzuki, lead of Gekidan Tokyo Suzuki-ku, whose work "Iruwake nai shi!" won the Best Play Award at the 4th TONOGEKI Theatre Festival. The production is directed by Akihiro Tsuboi, known for his work as assistant director for major hits like "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" and "Billy Elliot."

The cast features a lineup of unique talent: Hidenori Tokuyama (Kamen Rider series, experienced stage actor), Moeka Koizumi (harmoe unit, notable stage presence), Masaki Yabe (DISH// member, active actor), Gen Shiryu (OHL member, SHOW ME THE MONEY 12 participant), Yuki Mao (former Takarazuka performer, "Touken Ranbu"), Eisuke Tsuda (Les Misérables, Disney's Frozen dub), and Toru Kugazawa (Super Eccentric Theater).
