Sun Village Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Ashikaga City, Tochigi Prefecture, Representative Director: Choji Mimura, hereinafter "Sun Village") has begun sales of a battery storage package for grid-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS) developed by DAIHEN Corporation (Head Office: Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture, President and Representative Director: Shoichiro Minoge, hereinafter "DAIHEN"). This package is a highly reliable, low-noise battery storage system that has obtained "JC-STAR★1" certification. Sun Village aims to expand deployment, primarily for BESS requiring high-voltage connections, targeting a total capacity of 2.4 GWh.

[Features and Sales Plan]

The DAIHEN battery storage package sold in this initiative is a domestically developed product that includes key equipment such as a power conditioner, batteries, transformers, grid interconnection equipment, and an energy management system (EMS), and has obtained "JC-STAR★1" certification. This certification is a system that evaluates cybersecurity and operational reliability, and it is scheduled to become a requirement for grid interconnection from April 2027. The adoption of this system ensures high reliability and continuity, looking ahead to future regulatory compliance. Furthermore, the system's greatest feature is its low-noise performance, enabling operation with minimal impact on the surrounding environment. Its compact design also facilitates transportation and installation, which not only reduces noise mitigation costs but also contributes to expanding the range of potential sites for BESS, including areas close to residential zones, thereby accelerating development.

[Our Initiatives and Future Outlook]

Since its founding in 2012, Sun Village has focused on developing solar power plants, primarily in the Northern Kanto region, under the policy of "Harmony and Cooperation with Local Communities" and the philosophy of "Realizing Safe and Secure Power Generation Facilities." To promote the wider adoption of renewable energy, the introduction of battery storage systems as "balancing capacity" to ensure stable grid operation is considered an extremely important issue. Sun Village is promoting the development and construction of grid-scale BESS not only in Northern Kanto but also throughout Japan, setting a future goal of establishing 250 sites with a total output capacity of 500 MW. Through these efforts, we will contribute to the further spread of renewable energy and the realization of a decarbonized society.
