[About 'Bubble Bobble']
'Bubble Bobble' is an arcade action game planned, developed, and released by Taito in September 1986. This year marks its 40th anniversary since release. The game follows two boys, Bubby and Bobby, who are turned into bubble-blowing dragons named 'Bubblun' and 'Bobblun' by a wizard's curse. They must defeat enemies by trapping them in bubbles and work their way through 100 underground cave levels to rescue their kidnapped girlfriends.
The game gained popularity for its charming characters 'Bubblun' and 'Bobblun', leading to numerous sequels and ports to various home gaming platforms. The puzzle game 'Puzzle Bobble', featuring the same characters, became a major hit and is now one of the franchise's flagship titles.
Taito is the sole rights holder of all intellectual property related to 'Bubble Bobble', including copyrights and trademarks, both in Japan and internationally, and will continue to actively promote the franchise.
