Taketora (operated by Yamagishi Bamboo Material Co., Ltd.), a specialized bamboo manufacturer that has been patronized since its founding in the 27th year of Meiji (1894) as a manufacturer and wholesaler of bamboo materials and products, is committed to passing on the value of "Torafudake bamboo," a specialty product and unique regional resource of Susaki City, Kochi Prefecture, and Japanese bamboo culture to the next generation. As part of this initiative, we held a Taketora factory tour.

Taketora Company Tour 2026 https://www.taketora.co.jp/diary/2026/03/post-5693.html

This tour was organized by the Kochi City Cultural Promotion Foundation, and approximately 30 participants visited the home of Torafudake bamboo. During the tour, participants viewed the mountains of Torafudake bamboo, which grow only in a limited area of just 1.5 kilometers, and learned about its unique ecology and its relationship with the natural environment. The mystery of the bamboo forest suddenly disappearing beyond the mountain pass attracted significant interest as a symbol of the rarity of regional resources and the depth of nature.
