About the "TAMRON Photo Contest"

This contest aims to provide all photography enthusiasts with an enjoyable photography experience. Submissions are accepted for photos taken with interchangeable-lens cameras, regardless of manufacturer or model, new or old.

Two submission categories are available: the "General Category," which covers a wide range of photos regardless of lens category or genre, and the "Macro Category," for photos taken with macro lenses.

Furthermore, starting with this 5th contest, a new "U-25 Award" has been established to support the fresh perspectives and challenges of individuals aged 25 and under. The "Tamron Award," for works shot with Tamron lenses, has also been elevated to a major award position among the contest's top prizes, making the contest even more appealing.

【General Category】 Target: A wide range of photos regardless of lens category or genre

【Macro Category】 Target: Photos taken with macro lenses

(Works taken with the macro function of zoom lenses or with prime lenses other than macro lenses are not eligible)

Submission Format: Online submission

Number of submissions: 10 per category (up to 20 total submissions allowed)

(Color and black and white are both accepted; retouching is permitted (please describe the retouching in the application form))

【General Category】 Photographer Daisuke Kumagiri

Born in Tokyo. Studied photographic expression at Tokyo Polytechnic University Junior College.

After graduation, joined the photo department of Nikkan Gendai, primarily covering politics, incidents, and the Yomiuri Giants baseball team. Later became a freelancer, working in various genres including magazines, advertisements, and photography journals. Continues to produce and exhibit works capturing Tokyo through street photography. Also lectures on photography at universities and other institutions. Chairman of the Japan Professional Photographers Society.

【Macro Category】 Photographer Reiko Hagiwara

Born in Okinawa Prefecture. Graduated from the Department of Fine Arts, Kyoto Institute of Technology, and the University of Photographic Arts.

After traveling abroad, became fascinated with Japanese landscape photography. Currently based in the Joshinetsu-Kogen National Park, she photographs natural landscapes and the lives of various creatures. Has held numerous solo exhibitions. Member of the Japan Landscape Photographers Association, instructor at Ishinoyu Lodge Photo School, and Cabbage Ambassador (Tourism Ambassador) for Tsumagoi Village, among other roles.
