TAOKE ENERGY Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter "TAOKE"), a leader in promoting distributed energy resources, announces the completion of grid connection for the "Hiroshima Shobara City No.1 2MW High-Voltage Battery Storage Plant" and the "Hiroshima Shobara City No.2 2MW High-Voltage Battery Storage Plant," developed in Shobara City, Hiroshima Prefecture, on June 17 and June 5, 2026, respectively.
Hiroshima Shobara City No.1 High-Voltage Battery Storage Plant
Background and Significance
While renewable energy adoption is expanding across Japan, maintaining power supply-demand balance and responding to frequency regulation have become critical challenges. As the need for fast-response balancing capacity grows, grid-scale battery storage systems are increasingly recognized as essential infrastructure.
TAOKE has been advancing the development, construction, and operation of grid-connected battery storage facilities nationwide, accumulating operational experience in power balancing markets. With the consecutive grid connections of these two projects in Shobara City, Hiroshima Prefecture, TAOKE further expands its battery storage portfolio in the Chugoku region. The company will now proceed with preparations to enter power balancing markets, aiming to operate in various electricity markets, including the primary frequency control market.
Advancing Battery Storage Projects with Long-Term Stable Operation in Mind
TAOKE has consistently promoted the development and construction of battery storage facilities across Japan while strengthening its operation and maintenance frameworks.
For the Shobara City projects, TAOKE will leverage its accumulated expertise in project development and plant operations to advance initiatives focused on long-term, stable operation.
Going forward, TAOKE will continue to contribute to power infrastructure stability and the wider adoption of renewable energy, including through the deployment of its integrated "trinity" solution combining SI, EMS, and AG technologies.
