TBS 'World Heritage' (Airing Sundays at 6 PM) Celebrates 30th Anniversary and Receives UNESCO Commendation

TBS's 'World Heritage,' airing every Sunday at 6 PM, celebrated its 30th anniversary in April 2026. The program was awarded a commendation by UNESCO for its contributions to disseminating UNESCO's activities and promoting social understanding through its broadcasts. On May 20, 2026, during the 'Japan's 75th Anniversary of UNESCO Membership Forum,' TBS Director Tomoko Sato accepted the commendation on behalf of the company. Since its inception in 1996, the program has filmed over 700 world heritage sites in 136 countries and is the only media outlet recognized as an observer at the World Heritage Committee. The program remains committed to its mission of recording heritage sites with the latest technology for future generations.
