In commemoration of reaching 1 million visitors, two teenage female visitors from the Middle East shared their experiences in an interview.

We are pleased to announce that teamLab Biovortex Kyoto (hereinafter “teamLab Biovortex Kyoto”) has surpassed 1 million visitors as of Monday, July 6, 2026—nine months after its opening.

Approximately 42% of visitors are international tourists from over 150 countries and regions worldwide, with nearly half traveling from distant locations such as the United States, Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Germany. Additionally, about 30% of international visitors purchased their tickets more than 30 days in advance.

teamLab Biovortex Kyoto is Japan’s largest teamLab museum, with an average visit duration exceeding two and a half hours.

Visitor comments (two teenage females from the Middle East)

"This was our first visit to Japan, and our first experience with teamLab’s artworks. Among them, the piece where light forms lines (※2) left a particularly strong impression, and we were struck by its surreal beauty."

"We discovered this venue on social media while planning our trip to Japan and had it on our must-visit list. The experience of being fully immersed, both physically and mentally, exceeded our expectations.

As we are currently studying art, the crayon gift (※3) we received to commemorate the 1 millionth visitor milestone is perfect for us, and we look forward to using them for drawing."
