Tennis Lounge Hosts "Court Picnic" Event Born from a Parent's Desire to Help Children Who Can't Play Outdoors Due to Extreme Heat

Tennis Lounge Co., Ltd. will hold its first "Court Picnic" event on July 20, 2026 (Mon, holiday) at Tennis Lounge Tenpaku in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture, opening its indoor courts as a picnic venue.

This event is planned for families struggling to find places for their children to play on holidays due to extreme heat with heatstroke alerts or unpredictable rain.

Participants can spread out picnic sheets inside the air-conditioned courts, eat their packed lunches, and let their children run around freely.

An experience session for "Tenipin," a game anyone can easily play, will also be held. We will support 25 families in creating memories in an environment free from weather risks.

For families struggling with where to go during a summer when outdoor play is difficult

Summers in recent years have carried a high risk of heatstroke, making it difficult for children to run around energetically in parks. Many times, sudden rain on a precious holiday forces families to change their plans.

Therefore, we are opening our spacious, air-conditioned indoor courts as an indoor play space where children can run around safely. We aim to provide a destination that is not affected by the weather, using "picnics" as an accessible entry point for families who do not play tennis. This is the first initiative of its kind for Tennis Lounge.

The spacious indoor courts will be open as a play area for the first 25 families on a first-come, first-served basis.

Blue and orange courts transform into a cool park

On the day of the event, families can relax on picnic sheets brought from home within the approximately 520m2 court area, without worrying about sunburn or heatstroke. You can bring your own bento boxes and drinks, as well as toys (excluding open flames and dangerous items). Shower rooms and changing rooms are also available, and with supermarkets and drugstores nearby, you can come with minimal luggage, even for shopping.

Against the backdrop of the vibrant courts, families can relax and enjoy their bento boxes, or participate in the "Tenipin" experience sessions held at different times. You can come and go freely within the 3-hour period.

Families can spread out their sheets and spend time as they wish on the blue and orange courts. You can enter and exit freely during the designated time. We will support 25 families in creating memories in an indoor environment free from weather risks.

"Extreme heat that makes playing outside dangerous, and unpredictable sudden rain. I wonder how many families struggle with where to go on their precious holidays. As a parent of elementary school children, I face the same challenges every day.

Tennis Lounge aims to be a "cool and actively enjoyable third place" for the whole family, regardless of the weather. This time, we have also prepared a "Tenipin" experience that anyone, regardless of age, can easily enjoy.

This event was planned by a staff member with elementary school children as an outing destination for families that is not affected by the weather.

11:00 AM - 2:00 PM (Reception opens 10:30 AM) *Entry and exit are free within the time frame.

Free parking available

Eligibility: Tennis Lounge members and visitors are welcome.

Capacity: First 25 groups (up to 5 people per family)

Participation Fee: 1,000 yen per group (tax included)

What to Bring/Wear: Casual attire, towel, drinks, bento box, picnic sheet, toys (free to bring anything except open flames, dangerous items, etc.)

Activities: Eating, drinking, and free play within the court.

* "Tenipin Experience (15 minutes)" will be held at 11:30 AM, 1:10 PM, and 1:40 PM.
