Terra Charge Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Tetsu Tokushige; hereinafter "the Company"), which operates the EV (electric vehicle) charging service "Terra Charge," has joined MASA (Mobility Alliance for Sustainable Abundance), a cross-industry consortium established on Thursday, July 9, 2026, dedicated to issuing and circulating environmental value in the mobility sector.
Background
To achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) and the expansion of charging infrastructure are accelerating rapidly. The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) has set a target of installing 300,000 EV charging ports by 2030, emphasizing the need for convenient nationwide charging environments. Currently, approximately 68,000 charging ports (※1) are installed across Japan, and the Company operates a significant portion of this infrastructure. With flexible deployment options tailored to facility needs, user demands, and charging scenarios, the Company is committed to building an accessible charging environment that enables EV charging anytime, anywhere—from homes to destinations.

About MASA
MASA is a co-creation platform established to promote decarbonization in the mobility and logistics sectors and to transform emission reduction achievements into environmental value. The platform will focus on three core initiatives:
Verification of Environmental Value Issuance and Distribution Methods The consortium will explore the feasibility of establishing systems to issue and utilize environmental value from CO₂ reductions in the mobility sector. This includes insetting, offsetting (voluntary credits, J-Credits, JCM, etc.), and alignment with GX-ETS.
Dissemination of Decarbonization Insights MASA will continuously share insights on regulatory developments, advanced domestic and international case studies, and quantitative data related to decarbonization in mobility and logistics, supporting informed decision-making by businesses, government agencies, and industry stakeholders.
Development of Methodologies for Environmental Value Utilization The platform will collaborate with member companies and academic institutions to develop methodologies for issuing, attributing, and transferring CO₂ reduction achievements as environmental value within the mobility sector.
Terra Charge’s Participation
Guided by its mission of "Energy for Everyone and Every EV," the Company is actively expanding EV charging infrastructure. Beyond vehicle and charging equipment deployment, visualizing the environmental impact of transportation and establishing systemic frameworks for collective decarbonization are essential for EV adoption.
Through its participation in MASA, the Company will leverage its expertise and operational foundation in EV charging infrastructure to contribute to accelerating CO₂ reduction in the mobility sector and exploring new possibilities for environmental value creation.
