2026 State of Tech Talent Report Released

The Japanese version of the "2026 State of Tech Talent Report," the latest report from LF Research and LF Education that summarizes the current state of the global tech talent market based on this year's and past survey data, has been released. The report's key findings reveal the reality of organizations' responses to AI security risks, hiring trends, and preparedness for AI-related upskilling/cross-skilling in a changing economic and technological environment. The key point is that this is not a jobs crisis, but a skills crisis. While AI is a driver of job creation in the IT sector, with net employment growth projected to reach 31% in 2026, companies are facing a major challenge in securing full-stack talent. Furthermore, security concerns are the biggest barrier to extracting value from new technologies. To address these challenges, organizations are strongly recommending upskilling existing employees over external hiring to maintain organizational knowledge and improve retention rates.
