CRYXIS Releases New Song 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow' for Pride Month, Portraying Liberation and Hope for LGBTQ+

CRYXIS, an alternative unit that debuted in 2025 and has been gaining attention in both domestic and international alternative and loud rock scenes, will release their new song 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow' on June 5, 2026.

Announced in conjunction with Pride Month, this work draws inspiration from films such as 'The Wizard of Oz' and 'Wicked.' Thematically focusing on the liberation and hope of LGBTQ+ individuals, it is a grand track that fuses nu-metal and shoegaze reminiscent of Deftones and Evanescence with electronic elements.

Regarding this work, vocalist YUJU states that she poured into it her desire for the pain of those who have been deprived of their freedom and suffered to "not just be consumed as scars, but to be sublimated into the power to change the world for the better."

The "over the rainbow" depicted in the song is not a distant utopia, but a symbol of the place that people who have lived through pain and conflict build for themselves. Furthermore, YUJU entrusts this work with the message of wanting to wake up from meaningless borders and traditions that exist only to bind people, and to "create a society where the happiness and dignity of each person are naturally respected."

Producer BUNNY, considering the background where some traditional Christian values have kept LGBTQ+ individuals away from salvation, commented, "I want to build a place together, over the rainbow, where we can live with peace of mind."

The lyric video is scheduled for a YouTube premiere on June 5 at 9:00 PM, the same day as the song's release. The video is directed by fahad.k__edit, an Indian creator residing in Oman, and is a work that visually expresses the world view of the song.
