Happy New Year 2026. Today, representing the animal villagers of Wagokoro-mura, Kirin went to the pet-exclusive 'Aiiku Shrine' for the first shrine visit of the year. It is Japan's first shrine dedicated to pets. We, along with the cats and all our staff, look forward to welcoming you this year as well. Please continue to support Wagokoro-mura in 2026! Located in the satoyama of Futtsu, Chiba, 'Wagokoro-mura' is a small glamping village with only 6 rooms. On the grounds, which feature a 200-year-old traditional house, a nagayamon gate, tents, and cabins, 15 rescue cats, goats, dogs, and a family of Silkie chickens live together with humans. During the day, you can enjoy traditional 'original experiences' such as climbing slopes with a backpack basket or exploring the forest, using your whole body to play. At night, enjoy a slow chat while watching the bonfire. It is a common scene at Wagokoro-mura to see a cat curled up and sleeping beside you. We would be happy if you could experience the healing of nature and animals during a day in the satoyama.
