Tiger Corporation (CEO: Yoshitoshi Kikuchi, Headquarters: Kadoma City, Osaka Prefecture), a global leader in thermal control technology, has been collecting and recycling used stainless steel bottles from households since October 2021, regardless of the manufacturer, to realize a sustainable society. We report on the collection results of stainless steel bottles for this project, which is now in its fifth year.
In the past year alone, approximately 142,000 bottles were collected, bringing the cumulative total to approximately 287,000 bottles (※), and the initiative is expanding. This project has garnered attention from various media outlets, including TV and social media, with comments such as "It's great that it can be recycled regardless of the manufacturer" and "I didn't know how to dispose of my water bottle, so I'll bring it in right away."
The RE:Bottle webpage also shows the locations of 515 collection boxes nationwide.

By using our collection boxes, you can reduce the burden on the stainless steel recycling process. We will continue to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society through collaboration with municipalities and partner companies nationwide that support this initiative.
※ Calculated at 0.31kg per bottle (equivalent to our 750mL bottle MTR-W075)
* Collection locations in each municipality (schools, community centers, etc.) are counted as one location.
* There are also temporary collection spots available at events.
* Used stainless steel bottles from outside the municipality are not accepted.
Tiger Corporation's Circular Economy: Approximately 287,000 bottles collected in the 5th year since its launch!
<Comment from Tiger Corporation>
Previously, when stainless steel bottles were discarded from households, their sorting after collection posed a significant burden on the recycling process. This initiative allows us to collect a certain amount of stainless steel bottles, where the material is clearly stainless steel, in bulk. Therefore, it saves labor during recycling by specialized recycling companies compared to the conventional method of extracting stainless steel from a mixture of various metals. Furthermore, by suppressing the inclusion of impurities, we can secure high-purity stainless steel raw materials.
As the intense heat arrives and the use of water bottles increases, if you have any stainless steel bottles at home that have served their purpose, please bring them to the collection boxes we have set up. Your cooperation will help expand this circular economy activity, which is an SDGs action.
Recycling Model for Stainless Steel Bottles Developed by Tiger Corporation
Step 1
Collection of Stainless Steel Bottles
Collection boxes for used stainless steel bottles from households are installed in over 500 locations nationwide.
Collecting them in bulk leads to efficient recycling. It also suppresses the inclusion of impurities, allowing us to secure high-purity stainless steel raw materials.

Step 2
Recycling by Specialized Recycling Companies
The collected bottles are handed over to specialized recycling companies. The bottle bodies and caps are separated, and the stainless steel raw material is recycled from the bottle bodies, while PP resin (polypropylene) raw material is recycled from the caps. Stainless steel bottles that are continuously collected will be periodically handed over to specialized recycling companies.
Step 3
Production of Stainless Steel Materials and Resin Products Using Recycled Raw Materials
The stainless steel raw material is delivered to stainless steel manufacturers and reborn as new stainless steel materials. The PP resin (polypropylene) raw material is delivered to resin product manufacturers and reborn as resin products (resin boxes used in our factory).
Step 4
Utilization of Regenerated Stainless Steel Materials
The stainless steel materials are reborn as various stainless steel products that are familiar in your daily lives and return to your homes.
※ Products using regenerated stainless steel materials are not limited to vacuum insulated bottles.

1 Tiger Corporation Refurbished Products "Tiger Refurbished"
Instead of discarding products that have returned to our company for various reasons, we restore them with the sincerity and technology that are the foundation of our company and deliver them to customers again. By offering customers a new, environmentally friendly option to "obtain high-quality products at affordable prices and use them with peace of mind for a long time," we fulfill our "responsibility to create" throughout the product lifecycle and aim to realize a circular economy.

2 Promotion of Long-Term Use by Holding Repair Parts for 10 Years
We store repair parts (※1) for 10 years after the discontinuation of product manufacturing and provide repairs and parts sales. Repair services are also available for 10 years (※2). Therefore, even if your favorite product, which you have used for many years, malfunctions, you can continue to use it by repairing it.
By expanding the choice between "repair" and "replacement," we aim to meet customer expectations and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society from an environmental perspective by continuing to use a single product for a long time.
※1 Repair parts are components necessary to maintain the function of the product. To further improve our services, we extended the holding period for repair parts to 10 years after product discontinuation for all products on May 30, 2019.
※2 If the warranty period has expired, paid repairs will be provided.
※Supply may become unavailable in less than 10 years depending on material procurement and equipment status.

3 Product Development Utilizing Discarded Inner Pots
Discarded inner pots, for which the parts holding period has expired, are utilized in the commercial model of the outdoor cooker "Magic Kamado Gohan," which is also useful in emergencies. This product can cook "freshly cooked" rice by repeatedly inserting and igniting newspapers in the two holes at the bottom of the stove without using electricity or gas.
It is used for opportunities such as youth education, disaster preparedness drills, and community disaster preparedness stockpiling at outdoor facilities and for public organizations.
