Non-exclusive License Agreement Signed for RODEM

Pues Inc. (Yokohama, Kanagawa; President: Hiroyuki Matsumoto; hereinafter 'Pues') and Tmsuk Co., Ltd. (Kyoto, Kyoto; President: Yuji Kawakubo; hereinafter 'Tmsuk') have signed a non-exclusive license agreement regarding the electric mobility device 'RODEM'.

Under this agreement, Tmsuk will provide RODEM's technology and intellectual property to Pues, while Pues will undertake development, manufacturing, and sales. Together, they aim to promote the social implementation of small electric mobility.

This partnership is a long-term initiative looking toward 2030, aiming to expand the potential uses of electric mobility to meet the transport needs of those who face mobility challenges.

Background RODEM is an electric mobility device that Tmsuk has been developing for many years. Seeking to support personal mobility and provide new mobility experiences, it has been used in exhibitions, pilot experiments, and events. Since June 2023, it has also been deployed in mobility services in the Yaesu area of Tokyo.

However, building a stable manufacturing and sales system remained a key theme for further adoption and expansion.

Through this collaboration with Pues, which possesses expertise in electric mobility manufacturing, new deployment of small electric mobility is now possible to meet various needs.

Future Outlook Moving forward, both companies will leverage their strengths to aim for further adoption and social implementation of small electric mobility. In addition to addressing the transport needs of the mobility-challenged and promoting its use in various urban scenes, the companies will explore the potential for linkage with autonomous driving technology. Furthermore, they aim to create new mobility value through 'last-mile linkage', combining wide-area mobility using autonomous vehicles for multiple passengers with small electric mobility for narrow roads and short-distance travel.

About the current RODEM RODEM is a next-generation universal-design smart mobility device that allows everyone to enjoy travel without boundaries. Its rear-entry system and seat-height adjustment mechanism make it easy to transfer from beds or chairs. Additionally, because the eye-level is high, users can hold conversations at the same level as pedestrians, making it possible to go sightseeing or interact at counters while remaining seated on RODEM.
