Toa Construction Co., Ltd. (head office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Takeshi Hayakawa; hereinafter "the Company") announces the reorganization of its Technical Research and Development Center (located in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture), effective July 1, 2026, aimed at enhancing its capabilities.
As part of this reorganization, to further accelerate initiatives in the increasingly important future growth areas of "Marine Resources Development" and "Decarbonization and Environmental Technologies (GX)", the Company has established a new "Marine Resources Development Office" and a "GX Technology Group".
Through this reorganization, the Company will continue to promote technological development that creates new value in the marine sector and contributes to the realization of a decarbonized society. Going forward, the Company remains committed to strengthening its R&D framework to address societal challenges and achieve a sustainable society.
1. Overview of the Organizational Reorganization
(1) Establishment of the Marine Resources Development Office
To strengthen efforts in marine resource development, including rare earth elements and methane hydrates, the Company has newly established the "Marine Resources Development Office." This office will lead R&D activities related to marine resource development and associated technologies, and will take on the challenge of exploring new business domains.
Additionally, by collaborating with relevant departments such as the President's Office (Corporate Strategy Department and Technology Strategy Department), established in April of this year, the office will enhance information gathering on marine resources and leverage these insights to advance cutting-edge R&D.
(2) Establishment of the GX Technology Group (Organizational Restructuring)
The former "Resources and Energy Technology Group" has been restructured and strengthened as the "GX Technology Group." This group will promote technological development aimed at achieving a decarbonized society and further advance environmentally conscious technologies such as CO₂ capture.
Furthermore, through consolidation of technical expertise and organizational reinforcement, the group aims to achieve early implementation of research outcomes in real-world applications.
