Introduction of New Plans to Strengthen Fraud Countermeasures

In recent years, fraud targeting smartphones has been on the rise, with damage from phone-based impersonation fraud and SMS-based phishing becoming increasingly severe.

Amidst these growing security threats via smartphones, Docomo has announced a new service incorporating a 'Spam Call Rejection' function that utilizes Tobila Systems' threat information database.

The new plans being offered by Docomo, 'Anshin Security Standard Plan Fraud Countermeasure Plus' and 'Anshin Security Total Plan Fraud Countermeasure Plus,' strengthen protection against risks surrounding smartphones by adding three new features: spam call rejection, fraud checking, and fake image diagnosis, in addition to existing security measures. The threat information database managed by Tobila Systems is utilized for the spam call (warning display/rejection) and spam SMS countermeasures within these services.

About Tobila Systems' Threat Information Database

This service utilizes Tobila Systems' threat information database, which integrates information provided by police, external organizations, and users, along with Tobila Systems' proprietary investigation data to detect spam calls.

The database registers phone numbers used for special fraud and other crimes, as well as numbers that may be used for malicious solicitations. When a call is received, the phone number is automatically cross-referenced with the database, detecting approximately 99% of spam calls and approximately 97% of potentially fraudulent SMS messages. Information is updated daily, and as the number of users increases, the amount of collectable information expands, improving accuracy. This not only protects service users themselves but also contributes to the safety of other users.
