Tochikuken to Open Its First Roadside Model Store in Spring 2026

Tochikuken Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture; President: Yuta Yamauchi), which manufactures and sells Kitakyushu/Orio Station's famous bento "Kashiwameshi", will completely remodel the first floor of its Orio headquarters and open the first roadside model store of "New Tochikuken" on April 25, 2026.

Since its founding in 1921, Tochikuken has been delivering local food culture through the location of the "station", centered around its station bento "Kashiwameshi". The new store opening this time marks the first full-scale new challenge to expand "outside the station" in its long history.

Bringing the Taste of the Station to Everyday Local Life The new store will preserve the traditional standing-eating culture while newly incorporating a space where customers can sit and enjoy their meals leisurely. We are proceeding with creating a store where you can enjoy bento, side dishes, and udon all together. We aim to create a new form of Tochikuken, not just as a place to drop by during commuting, going to school, or traveling, but as a place where local residents can casually use it as their everyday dining venue.

A New Challenge: Expanding "From the Station to the Town" Until now, Tochikuken has been loved by many customers as the "taste of the station" and the "taste of travel." On the other hand, the way local people live and their food culture are gradually changing with the times. Even amidst these changes, while cherishing the taste and culture we have protected for many years, we will aim to become an existence where people can enjoy Tochikuken's taste more casually in their daily lives, based on the desire to move "from the station to the town."

The First Step: "From Station Bento to Local Diner" This initiative is the first step toward Tochikuken's new role of transitioning "from a station bento to a local diner." While preserving the original taste passed down since our founding, we will deliver food closer to the community, more accessibly, and more warmly.
