Publication Background Recently, with the spread of social media, opportunities to encounter information about appearance and body shape have increased, and not a few people are influenced by the value that 'being thin equals being good.' On the other hand, it is said that many modern people suffer from hidden malnutrition, and the number of women experiencing ailments like coldness and fatigue due to being skinny is on the rise. This book is gently explained based on the real-life experiences of the author, who herself once suffered from being skinny and has faced women with similar struggles for over 10 years as a registered dietitian, regarding the improvement of diet and lifestyle habits. It aims to be a catalyst for those worrying about being skinny and those who want to improve their constitution towards an energetic body, to face their bodies and regain health.
Author Profile Minami Hamano Registered Dietitian Specializing in Skinny Types. Senior Master of Health Food Education. Provides dietary and lifestyle improvement support for women struggling with being skinny. In her 20s, she suffered from extreme thinness and lack of stamina, experiencing a state where 'working 5 days in a row was painfully hard.' During her own constitution improvement process, she encountered the 'rice life' and realized stability in stamina, menstrual cycles, and skin conditions by organizing the foundation of her diet. She maintained her health through two pregnancies and childbirths, and currently works while raising children. From the perspective that 'being skinny does not equal being healthy,' she provides specialized dietary support for skinny women wanting to gain weight and build stamina. She offers accompanying support centered on improving dietary intake, enhancing gastrointestinal function, and stabilizing hormonal balance. Through Instagram, note, and YouTube appearances, she continues to broadcast about the health challenges of skinny women.

Author Comment I wrote this book with the desire to 'deliver a book that stays close to the worries of skinny women.' There is still a prevailing trend in the world that perceives 'being skinny is a good thing' and 'skinny = beautiful.' Because of this, the worry of being skinny tends to be hard for those around to understand, and currently, there is little information on how to improve a 'skinny' constitution. I have heard many voices from skinny women saying, 'I feel like I eat reasonably well, but I don't gain weight,' 'I have ailments but don't know how to improve them,' and 'I have no one around me to share my worries with.' What I consider important when supporting the constitution improvement of skinny women is not just focusing on weight gain or loss, but having them feel the changes in their physical condition and bodies, such as 'becoming less prone to fatigue' or 'skin texture improving.' For that, I convey not only the necessary dietary improvements but also how to face lifestyle habits, weight, and constitution. Also, recently, elementary school children sometimes say things like 'I want to be skinny' or 'I got fat.' At such times, I hope parents and guardians will offer reassuring words like 'Changes in the body are natural growth' and 'It's okay.' I would be happy if this book becomes a catalyst for women worrying about being skinny to acquire an energetic, mobile body and enjoy the life ahead. I will continue to face my clients and proceed with creating a community where people worrying about being skinny can connect.
