Tokyo-based liquor importer and wholesaler Toko Co., Ltd. will begin limited sales of "Loch Lomond The Open 154th Special Edition," a limited single malt commemorating this year's Open Championship from Scotland's Loch Lomond Distillery, nationwide starting Tuesday, May 26, 2026.
This special bottle was created with the celebrated golfer Colin Montgomerie as the tournament's only official whisky.
◆ Loch Lomond The Open 154th Special Edition This limited single malt was crafted by Master Blender Michael Henry and Loch Lomond Whiskies Ambassador Colin Montgomerie for the 154th Open Championship. It uses only spirit from the distillery's iconic straight-neck pot stills, giving it an appealing orchard fruit character. After maturation in American oak casks to enhance its fruit notes, it was finished for six months in Argentine Malbec wine casks. It is characterized by dark berries like cassis, fresh red berries, and a hint of spice.
The package includes two special glasses and is designed with a classic travel poster motif.
- ABV: 46% - Volume: 700ml - Suggested Retail Price: 5,000 JPY + tax - Quantity: 2,100 bottles
【Tasting Notes】 The nose opens with dark berries like cassis and blackberry, followed by redcurrant, vanilla, citrus peel, honey, and a malty graininess. The palate features blackberry, raspberry, and peach syrup, layered with apple and toffee sweetness, gentle spice, and a hint of smoke. The finish is medium-length, with lingering berry sweetness, a touch of oak spice, and a smoky warmth.
