Masamune Oosawa (Oosawa Marimasu)

Born in Aichi Prefecture in 1956. Dropped out of Keio University. Debuted in 1979 with "Kansou no Machikado," winning the 1st Shosetsu Mystery Newcomer Award. In 1991, won the 12th Eiji Yoshikawa Literature Newcomer Award and the 44th Japan Mystery Writers' Association Award for Best Novel for "Shinjuku Same." In 1994, won the 110th Naoki Prize for "Shinjuku Same: Muken Ningyo." In 2004, won the 17th Renzo Shibata Prize for "Pandora Island." In 2010, received the 14th Japan Mystery Literature Award. In 2014, won the 48th Eiji Yoshikawa Literature Award for "Umi to Tsuki no Meiro." Awarded the Medal with Purple Ribbon in 2022.
