Tokyu Power Supply Co., Inc. will begin accepting pre-registrations for the fiscal year 2026 of its large-scale social implementation project for home storage batteries, the 'Terumaru Denchi Project,' starting Thursday, June 18.

As part of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's initiatives to promote home storage battery adoption and implement aggregation businesses, this project aims to socially implement home batteries and establish a demand response (DR) environment through collective charge/discharge control to stabilize the city's power supply. The batteries are remotely controlled by the company to charge during off-peak hours and discharge during peak hours. This provides customers with an 'electricity bill reduction effect' without special operations, and a 'resilience effect' by automatically switching to independent operation during power outages to supply electricity, offering peace of mind during disasters.

Analysis of data from households in the FY2025 project showed significant savings. In April 2026, the month with the highest average reduction rate, savings reached a maximum of ¥3,294/month (18.1% reduction) and an average of ¥1,589/month (11.8% reduction). By optimizing charging and discharging in response to high electricity market prices due to the situation in Iran and daytime power surpluses from renewable energy expansion, substantial savings were achieved. A survey of participating households revealed that about 30% 'felt a definite effect on reducing electricity bills,' and overall service satisfaction was 94%. In addition to the security of having a backup for power outages, the ability to gain financial benefits in daily life without effort was highly rated.

Furthermore, since the first-ever renewable energy output curtailment in the Tokyo metropolitan area in March 2026, the project has been engaged in 'Age DR' (upward DR), where home batteries are collectively controlled to charge during curtailment periods. From March to May 2026, curtailment occurred on 26 days, and Age DR was implemented on all of them, creating over 30,000 kWh of demand and contributing to the effective use of renewable energy. This confirms that by bundling and controlling home batteries, they can contribute not only as individual household equipment but also to the effective use of renewables and the stabilization of the power network.

Following the success and high praise of the FY2025 project, the company is now starting pre-registration for FY2026. This initiative aims to further expand the adoption of home storage batteries and promote a new energy service that simultaneously provides 'household security,' 'electricity bill reduction,' and 'power network stabilization.'

The company will continue to contribute to solving challenges while seeking a model for a society in harmony with the environment, actively working towards the realization of a carbon-neutral society.

[Appendix Details] ■ 'Terumaru Denchi Project' FY2026 Pre-registration Campaign This project, run by Tokyu Power Supply using a Tokyo Metropolitan Government subsidy, distributes and installs home storage batteries for free. It targets detached households in Tokyo without solar power systems. For FY2026, the project plans to upgrade to a new battery model from Omron Social Solutions (13.0 kWh).
