Nagoya Railroad, in partnership with Dentsu Meitetsu Communications, will launch 'GHOSTrain' on June 21, 2026, as the second phase of the 'Uemuku to Uwamuku Project.' The project addresses Japan's massive vinyl umbrella consumption—the highest in the world—and the low return rate of lost umbrellas on trains (around 10%). A designated 3300 series train will be decorated with ghost-themed hanging advertisements crafted from decommissioned vinyl umbrellas that were left behind by passengers. Additionally, from June 22 to June 29, a peel-off advertising wall will be set up near the South Gates inside Meitetsu Nagoya Station, allowing passengers to take cute ghost stickers to label and cherish their own umbrellas, preventing future losses. A special concept movie will be released on the official website on June 26.
