Toray Launches Special Program 'Inside Toray' with Former TBS Announcer Tomohiro Ishii to Commemorate its 100th Anniversary

Toray Industries, Inc. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Mitsuo Ohya; hereinafter "Toray") announced that to commemorate its 100th anniversary in 2026, it will begin broadcasting a special program titled "Inside Toray (What is the 'Future' Envisioned by Toray?)" on its YouTube channel starting May 21.

Welcoming former TBS announcer Tomohiro Ishii as an "explorer," the program will stream videos over the next year covering various 100th-anniversary events and conducting interviews, including with the President of Toray. It aims to reveal the frontlines of Toray's social value creation and the hard work of its employees—areas usually inaccessible to standard reporters.

The Slogan is "Pocket to Planet"

Toray's 100th anniversary is not merely a look back at the past. It asks: How will we connect with society and the generations responsible for the future, and how will we excite the world with the power of materials?

The slogan for this project is "Pocket to Planet." Toray's materials are omnipresent in society, ranging from everyday products that color the daily lives of young people, like smartphones and fashion (Pocket), to cutting-edge fields solving global environmental issues or advancing space exploration (Planet). This program communicates the sheer scale of this presence and the challenging spirit of the frontline workers—who believe "it's interesting precisely because it's difficult"—serving as a new form of communication connecting the company and society.

This project will be known as "Toraypo" in Japan and "Inside Toray" overseas.
