Perfect for traditional Japanese hairstyles during Shichi-Go-San celebrations.
Located about a 7-minute walk from Ujiyamada Station in Ise City, Mie Prefecture, there is a small workshop where visitors can experience crafting hair ornaments using antique kimono fabrics approximately 100 years old.
Create your own design by combining ribbons.
During the experience, participants freely combine vintage fabric ribbons with different colors and patterns to create their own unique hair accessory.
Each piece of fabric has a distinct hue and design, and the final appearance varies greatly depending on the combination—making it highly unlikely for any two accessories to look exactly alike.
Ideal for Shichi-Go-San and Coming-of-Age ceremonies.
Adds elegance to photo shoots.
The hair ornaments crafted at the studio are already being used in professional photo sessions at local studios such as "photomar" and "torch" in Ise. Handmade one by one, these accessories enhance traditional Japanese attire for events like Shichi-Go-San, Coming-of-Age ceremonies, and graduation photos. Participants use the same high-quality materials and techniques as those used in actual photo shoots.
A creative solo journey—or a meaningful mother-daughter activity.
Completed hair accessories can be worn with yukata, used during Shichi-Go-San or Coming-of-Age ceremonies, or taken home as souvenirs or gifts for loved ones.
Antique Kimono (torch Sarutahiko Shrine Front Store)
After crafting, enjoy tea and traditional Japanese sweets in a relaxed atmosphere.
After the workshop, participants can opt for a complimentary drop-off service to Ise Grand Shrine (Naiku and Geku), Okage Yokocho, or other preferred locations within the city. Since public buses can be extremely crowded, this local "petit drive" offers a pleasant, personal touch.
