Toyokumo, Inc., a provider of easy-to-use business cloud services, announced that Susono City, Shizuoka Prefecture, has established a system to rapidly publish bear sighting information by leveraging Toyokumo's kintone integration services, 'FormBridge' and 'kViewer', to ensure resident safety.

In recent years, bear sightings have been frequent across Japan, making it an urgent task for municipalities to disseminate information to ensure resident safety. Susono City has also seen an increase in local bear sightings, and initially, city staff updated web pages manually as information came in.

Subsequently, the issue was shared with the Digital General Affairs Division, which required a more responsive mechanism. However, developing a dedicated system from scratch for such an urgent issue would involve significant time and cost, making the challenge how to build a reliable information sharing mechanism quickly while keeping costs down.

Susono City began evaluating implementation methods on May 22, 2026. Despite having no specialized engineers on staff, they combined Toyokumo's kintone integration services with generative AI to launch the initial version on the same day. Specifically, they integrated a form (FormBridge) to streamline field input, a database (kintone), and an external API (kViewer).

Susono City is now considering providing this API as open data to expand the reach of information and improve citizen disaster prevention and safety awareness.
