1. About the June 2026 Limited Edition Goshuin

Ikuta Shrine (Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture) will begin issuing five types of limited Goshuin, including two types of paper-cut (Kirie) designs, from Monday, June 1, 2026.

Paper-Cut Goshuin: [The Sun Blooming in the Rainy Season] This June-only Goshuin features 'Benzaiten,' the only goddess among the Kobe Seven Lucky Gods enshrined at the Ichikishima subsidiary shrine. It depicts hydrangeas—often called 'the sun blooming in the rainy season'—around the Ikuta Pond in the shrine precincts. A unique 'half-cutting' technique, which etches the paper without cutting through, is used to provide an unparalleled three-dimensional expression. - Period: June 1 – June 30, 2026 - Fee: 1,000 yen

Paper-Cut Goshuin: [Medicine Rain] Inspired by the 'Rain of Medicine' that falls during the Dragon Boat Festival (Tango no Sekku) on the lunar calendar. It represents the life-affirming fresh greenery and gentle rain through intricate paper cutting. It was created with prayers for peace and healing for all. - Period: June 1 – June 30, 2026 - Fee: 1,000 yen

Shiki Goshuin: [Kunpu (Fragrant Breeze)] Characterized by the complex brilliance of 'etching processing.' It gorgeously expresses the shifting seasonal scenes as if a pleasant breeze is passing through. - Period: May 1 – May 31, 2026 - Fee: 1,000 yen

June Limited Goshuin: [Minatsuki] Depicts hydrangeas blooming vividly in the gentle rainy season against the backdrop of Kobe's cityscape. - Period: June 1 – June 30, 2026 - Fee: 500 yen

Summer Limited Goshuin: [Natsumode] Focuses on the deity 'Wakahiru-me-no-Mikoto,' with illustrations of the zodiac sign 'Horse' and goldfish swimming in clear water, expressing a refreshing summer scene. - Period: June 1 – August 31, 2026 - Fee: 500 yen
