Ichihata-san Yakushiji Temple has introduced a new lace-design amulet bag for its 'amulet-making experience,' where visitors craft their own protective charm by hand.

In this experience, participants write down their wishes, place the main deity inside the amulet, tie it with a ceremonial cord, and finally perform 'Seiire'—a ritual to imbue the amulet with a soul—creating a truly unique, one-of-a-kind charm.

Responding to enthusiastic feedback, the newly launched lace-design features delicate floral patterns, offering a fresh and elegant option that enhances the emotional and spiritual value of the experience.

Starting Wednesday, June 17, 2026, visitors can choose the lace-design amulet bag during the amulet-making experience.

A One-of-a-Kind Amulet

The amulet-making experience at Ichihata-san Yakushiji Temple goes beyond simply receiving a charm. Participants personally select their design and infuse their wishes throughout the creation process.

From writing down wishes, enshrining the deity, tying the cord, to the final prayer and Seiire ritual—each step is a meaningful part of crafting the amulet.

By completing it with their own hands, participants are given a reflective moment to reconnect with their deepest wishes.

The Birth of the 'Lace Design' from Popular Demand

The new lace-design amulet bag was born from the overwhelming response to the existing experience. Its gentle, intricate lace and floral patterns offer a unique aesthetic, distinct from traditional amulets.

Additionally, the amulet bags are available in multiple colors, allowing visitors to customize combinations based on their wishes or personal preferences.

Moreover, the bags use a transparent (skeleton) material, enabling participants to insert favorite stickers, photos, or cards for personalized decoration. This allows the amulet to not only carry heartfelt wishes but also become a cherished, visually meaningful keepsake.

Features of the Amulet-Making Experience

Freedom to Choose Your Design

Participants can freely select the design and color of the 'amulet bag,' 'ceremonial cord,' and 'wish paper.' This ensures each amulet is completely unique and personal.

Easy for Anyone to Create

The process is simple and guided by a manual, making it accessible and enjoyable for everyone—from children to adults.

A Sacred Moment to Reflect on Your Wishes

Creating the amulet within the temple’s serene environment offers a special opportunity for introspection. Finally, by passing the amulet through the incense smoke and offering prayers, participants imbue it with strong, heartfelt wishes.
