Shiojiri City (Mayor: Takashi Momose), Nihon University, and Trustbank, the operator of the Furusato Nozei portal 'Furusato Choice,' have developed two products utilizing Shiojiri's local resources as part of a collaborative project. Starting today, June 1st (Monday), these items will be available as return gifts for donations to Shiojiri City via Furusato Choice.
This project is part of an agreement signed between Shiojiri City and Trustbank in September 2025. Students from Nihon University's Faculty of Law engaged in dialogues with local businesses to re-evaluate regional resources, focusing on enhancing the value and design of the return gifts. By incorporating the perspectives of young people, the project aims to create relationships with the region and foster sustainable industrial development.
The two products developed are 'Karada Oen Oyaki' by Kagami Seifun and 'CAVE Kikyo - Kikyo no Sato' by SHIOJIRI BASE. 'Karada Oen Oyaki' is a high-protein snack made with Shinshu mushrooms and pea powder, themed around supporting sports. 'CAVE Kikyo' is a red wine featuring a label design created by students, inspired by the city's flower, the bellflower (Kikyo).
