The 'Ukiyo-e Comes Alive HIROSHIMA' Executive Committee (Hiroshima Television, C's Live, Ichihata, TV Aichi) will host the immersive digital art museum exhibition 'Ukiyo-e Comes Alive HIROSHIMA' from Saturday, July 18, 2026, to Sunday, September 6, 2026.
'Ukiyo-e Comes Alive' is an immersive art experience that brings to life over 300 ukiyo-e masterpieces by Edo-period artists such as Katsushika Hokusai, Utagawa Kuniyoshi, and Utagawa Hiroshige through digital art technologies including 3D CG animation and projection mapping.
Following its debut in Nagoya in July 2023, the exhibition has toured Kagoshima, Tokyo, Fukuoka, and Osaka. It has also gained international acclaim with exhibitions in Milan (April 2024), Taipei and Kaohsiung (2025), and will be held in Paris in 2026. This summer, it will make its debut in the Chugoku-Shikoku region for the first time. In addition to digital installations, the exhibition will feature original Edo-period ukiyo-e prints and reproductions, offering insights into the history of ukiyo-e and Edo-era culture.
With the opening of 'Ukiyo-e Comes Alive HIROSHIMA' just around the corner, early bird tickets are available until July 17. Don’t miss this limited-time opportunity to experience the dynamic world of ukiyo-e masterpieces transcending time and captivating audiences worldwide.
