Starting this fiscal year, the Hamada Campus Support Association of The University of Shimane will collaborate with the university on initiatives to promote students' understanding of diversity and multicultural coexistence in the local community. As the first such initiative, the university will designate June of this year as 'Pride Month,' turning the entire campus into a learning space by holding events to promote understanding of sexual minorities 'LGBTQ+' and diversity, poster displays in the cafeteria, a talk show by members of the community, and a curated book display at the media center.
