Daien Foods, a wholly owned subsidiary of Valor Holdings, will open 'Yokkaichi Honten Maguro Restaurant Ryoge Branch' on June 19, 2026, adjacent to Valor Ryoge store in Gifu City. The 377 sqm venue continues the legacy of the original Yokkaichi restaurant, which dates back to the 1960s-70s when the city served as a deep-sea tuna fishing base. The flagship location once operated as a lodging and dining hall for tuna fishermen and was known as a retro tuna canteen until its 2018 renovation. The new Ryoge branch will apply Daien Foods' long-cultivated tuna handling expertise to offer affordable, generous tuna bowls. The menu features the Gokai-don (heaped tuna bowl), Kaisen-don (7-topping seafood bowl), Tempura-don (freshly fried shrimp, tuna, salmon, squid, and seasonal vegetables), and Tabekurabe-don (a tasting bowl with southern bluefin medium-fatty, yellowfin, and albacore tuna plus tataki). Hours are 10:00-19:30 with no fixed holidays except Jan 1-3. Daien Foods, established in 1999 with 80 million yen capital, operates two Maguro Restaurant and two Maguro Shokudo locations across Mie and Aichi prefectures.
