VASTLAND Co., Ltd. (Himeji, Hyogo; CEO: Yuki Tanaka), maker of outdoor gear brand VASTLAND, will launch its 'Disaster Portable Toilet (100 uses)' on Saturday, June 13, 2026. Developed under the supervision of a certified disaster-prevention specialist, the product uses a coagulant that solidifies in as little as 20 seconds and provides antibacterial and deodorizing effects, minimizing hygiene risks during emergencies. To promote household stockpiling ahead of the high-risk June-October disaster season, VASTLAND will sell the product at 20% off (¥3,184) on Amazon and Rakuten from June 13-19. Key context: EC sales of disaster goods fell ~41% in 2025 vs. 2024 (Nint data), while only 28.8% of households stockpile emergency toilets (Japan Toilet Association). During the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, some areas took over a year to restore sewage. One box covers ~5 days for a 3-person household. Four features: (1) 15-year shelf life from manufacture; (2) coagulates 200ml in ~20 sec, 400ml in ~30 sec, with antibacterial/deodorizing action; (3) 100 HDPE tear-resistant bags and 100 gloves included; (4) co-developed by VASTLAND and an active disaster-prevention specialist for varied harsh environments.
