VESS Labs Officially Supports International Standard Specifications for Digital Certificates (VC): OpenID4VCI 1.0 and OpenID4VP 1.0

(Headquarters: 1-23-14 Jinnan, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter "VESS") is pleased to announce that all of its products now officially support the final versions of the international standard specifications for the issuance and presentation of Verifiable Credentials (VC): "OpenID for Verifiable Credential Issuance 1.0 (OID4VCI)" and "OpenID for Verifiable Presentations 1.0 (OID4VP)".

Background: from Draft to Final International Standard 1.0

After years of global validation and updates as draft versions, the OID4VCI and OID4VP specifications were finally released as official version 1.0 at the end of last year. This establishes a globally common standard for the basic data exchange of VC issuance, holding, and presentation.

Currently, digital wallets and identity infrastructures worldwide, including the EUDI Wallet (European Digital Identity Wallet) being socially implemented in Europe, are being developed based on this 1.0 specification. By quickly aligning with this official international standard, VESS Labs ensures robust interoperability with diverse ecosystems both domestically and internationally.

Three Products in the VESS Ecosystem Now Compliant

With this update, the following products are fully compliant with version 1.0:

VESS Wallet (Holder Wallet App): A mobile wallet app that allows general users to securely receive, manage, and present VCs. It complies with the latest 1.0 specification and enables secure collaboration with various issuers and verifiers.

VESS Wallet SDK (SDK for Wallet Apps): A developer toolkit to quickly integrate VC management and presentation functions into your own apps. This update enables developers to easily implement wallet functions compliant with the 1.0 specification.

VESS Credentials (Issuer/Verifier Dashboard): A no-code/low-code dashboard for unified management of VC issuance and verification. It allows secure VC issuance and privacy-conscious data verification in line with the international standard 1.0.
