VIE Inc. (Headquarters: Kamakura, Kanagawa; CEO: Yasuhiko Imamura) announced that the research theme 'Brain-Audio Interface Development,' jointly proposed with the University of Tokyo and Jichi Medical University, has been selected for the Frontier Development Project under the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO).
This research project is being conducted in collaboration between the University of Tokyo, VIE Inc., and Jichi Medical University, aiming to advance research and development in the field of neuroscience.
About the Frontier Development Project The Frontier Development Project is a research and development support initiative promoted by NEDO. Its purpose is to promote R&D and commercialization in frontier areas that the nation needs to address, with a view to creating new industries from 2040 onwards.
From fiscal year 2026, the program structure has been expanded to consistently support projects from technology development to social implementation in key areas such as AI robotics, bio-manufacturing, quantum technology, and brain-tech/neurotech.
Furthermore, Takuya Ibaraki, Executive Officer and CNTO of VIE Inc., has been appointed as the Program Director (PD) for the 'Brain-tech/Neurotech' sector.
