The Visual Industry Promotion Organization (VIPO) is launching the "Japan Drama First Look: Co-Pro Pitch" program, a series drama overseas pitching support initiative, as part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications' fiscal 2026 project.

As the first phase, we are opening applications starting today, May 21 (Thu), for series drama projects to be pitched at "BCWW (Broadcast World Wide)", Asia's largest content market, held in Seoul, Korea, from September 14 (Mon) to September 16 (Wed).

Purpose of "Japan Drama First Look: Co-Pro Pitch" The program aims to promote international co-production with overseas broadcasters and streaming services, diversify production funding, and create diverse intellectual property.

Program details for the first phase: "BCWW (Korea)" 1. Pre-training (4 sessions): Expert guidance on pitching techniques and deck creation. 2. Pitching at BCWW 2026: Provides a stage for pitching with the goal of collaborating with Korean partners (Japanese pitching is available with interpretation). 3. Matching support: Networking events and individual business meetings on-site.

Application Guidelines - Eligibility: Producers and directors (including young staff) working at domestic production companies or broadcasters. - Project requirements: Series drama projects of 4 episodes or more, approx. 30-60 minutes per episode (Short/Vertical dramas are excluded). - Application deadline: June 24, 2026 (Wed) at 17:00. - Number of projects to be selected: Approximately 10 projects.
